Ruksana Part-II
The open mind.
"This is the continuation of the extract from the memoirs of a 9 year old boy called Jay. This story is about childhood innocence, child labour, God, miracles, and affection/love. It can be best enjoyed if the many parts are read in proper sequence ."

"I get bored easily when I am not doing anything so I want to do something all the time. I stand outside the house and see the road. But it is very sunny in the afternoon and amma allows me to go out of the house only after 5:30 in the evening. So, inside the house sometimes I just sit and play with toy cars and start my own new games.
I once played a game with bikes. Suzuki samurai vs. Hero Honda sleek vs. Ind Suzuki vs. Rajdoot vs. Bullet vs. Kawasaki kb 125. I just sit outside the first floor balcony and count the bikes that go in the road and the bike that crosses the maximum number of times in that 2/3 hours will be winner. My dad has Ind Suzuki so I always support it to win.
When evening comes I will go out and climb on top of the big gate and sit there and watch the road. I wait for Ruksana to come out of her house as she also will come out with aunties and babies and sit in their porch. It is a great feeling to see her for the first time after the previous day.
There will be a lot of buses in the evening in the road and they are full of people. Some buses have nose and some did not. I wonder if that altered the top speed of the buses. These buses are made in Hosur. My aunty works in the factory.
I also like to see the rare TATA Sierra and TATA Estate. I want to buy that car when I grow up.
When Ruksana is outside her house, I want her to see me. She does not see me and smile because we are big children now and boys should not talk to girls. I talk to Jaffer’s sisters but Ruksana is servant so she always keeps quiet.
I want to show Ruksana that I am strong and brave. I also want her to know that I am intelligent and I know many things that she does not know. I want to see her smile and play. I want her to be happy.
Many girls see me when I am doing something in school and they like it. But I didn’t like it. I want only Ruksana to see me. So, I try many ways to make her see me and I see her. I want to be like a Hero to her. So, I do many brave things and try and make Ruksana see me.
For a long time I wanted to try and walk in the other side of the railing of the porch in the 3rd floow terrace like a circus man. One evening my parents went to see my aunt in hospital who had given a cousin for me. I was standing in the terrace and studying geography and suddenly saw Ruksana. She saw me too. Immediately I got down on the other side of the railing in the porch and walked the distance from one end to another. At one end I turned back to see if Ruksana was seeing my fearlessness, but she was not there. I got dejected and climbed back into the terrace. I then noticed my neighbourhood ‘thatha’ (old man) watching me. I was happy that he saw me walk and smiled back at him but he was looking at me seriously with wide eyes. I understood that he was angry and ran away.
I was hoping that this thatha does not tell my parents about what I did but he did. My appa told me in the evening not to do it again. I knew that appa was scared and I am not. I have already showed Ruksana how I can climb down on the sunshades earlier.
I like to go to car workshop and see ‘Annas’ (Big guys) who are coloured black because of oil and grease. I also want to be like them. They also drive very fast, both bike and car. They also go under the car which I find very brave. Sometimes when our car is parked in front of our house and when Ruksana is out in her portico playing with babies, I go under our car and stay there for two minutes. My parents do not know this. I come out and see if Ruksana saw it. She must be thinking that I am strong boy but she never wanted me to know that she saw it.
It is very scary under the car as there are many sounds coming out.
Our first floor also had a balcony which had railings that shook. When Ruksana is standing in her house, I hit the railing with my hands and it shakes. I know I am very strong. I wondered if the ‘annans’ (Big guys) in the neighbourhood could do that. Ruksana always saw that and turned away as usual.
Last weekend I did a poster pointing of my house sitting in front of the house. This is how famous painters do painting. I saw it in Trivandrum beach. Ruksana saw me once but I sat there from 2’O clock to 6 ‘O clock in the sun as my parents went to a marriage. I felt sad that she didn’t see my painting. I fell sick next day and didn’t go to school as I had fever.
Today also I will go and ride my Bicycle if Ruksana is there. I am not allowed to go to the road and can ride only inside the compound. I can draw all numbers with my cycle, ride super fast and ride without holding the handle. I can also stand on the seat and ride. I will ring the bell when I am doing this so that Ruksana will see me but Ruksana does not see always. She sees me and turns away.
I play cricket and bat/ball. My father does not like me playing with other boys in the locality as he thinks they are ‘pattikadu’ (country rogues) and do not wear shirts. I have a cricket bat that my amma made with a ‘matta’ (dry ripe coconut leaf midrib). I also a have an original cricket bat but I don’t like it. I wanted Four Square Bat but appa bought Ajay Jadeja bat from Jabalpur. I think it is duplicate. Jabalpur is far away on the way to Delhi.
I also play bat/ball with two red coloured bats that appa bought from Ranchi. Ranchi is in Bihar state. He said that the bats are used to play table tennis. I and my friends play bat/ball with plastic balls and ARUN ice cream balls. I am the only one in the locality who has had ball ice-cream. I tell my friends that it tasted the best and that they have not eaten anything as tasty as this. I sometimes throw the ball high in the air so Ruksana will come to know that I had ball ice-cream but Ruksana did not want to see it. She will be talking to somebody and was not interested to see me play.
I want to do something special and make her see me. I will think about some idea and plan to do more things to make her see me.
I want her to smile.
I want her to laugh.
I want her to play.
I want her to be happy."

What is ?
What is

In the praising of the Lord?
In the green of the summer breeze?
In the cracking of the autumn leaves?
In the people who acknowledge the purity of the moon?
In the man who stops to see the sunset?
In the woman who rises to see the sunrise?
In the unspoken words with your beloved?
In the unconditional presence of your family?
In the telephonic voices that moves you to tears?

In the encouragement from your father?
In the strength of your mother?
In the wisdom of your grandfather?
In the chiding from your grandmother?
In the maturity of your sister?
In the pat on the back from your brother?
In the happiness when you think about family?
In the gloom that you are in when a friend is sad?
In the tears that roll down when your dreams are realized?
In the miracles of belief, determination and strength?
In the unexplained acts of magnanimity?
In the glorification of creation?
In the fullness of life, the way God wanted it to be?

Spirituality.

India has been often plagued by violence among people that is caused by sensitive religious belief of individuals. Every man feels an emotional uproar when the call for war comes to defend his religion and its followers. I have myself felt this surge of emotions many times ‘helplessly’.
The current global scenario of wars is also attributed to the emotions that man attaches to religion. This human weakness is being harnessed by the astute leaders of men to shepherd the world into a way that meets their own instinctive needs. Little do the majority of the men in the world know that the war that they are waging on a mighty enemy is dampening the soil beneath them and is crippling their future. They are innocently blinded and this is occurring because the leaders of men are good at hiding the truth from their flock and guiding them through realms of heavenly fantasies that are really tensile bubbles of uncertainty in hell. They must wake up and demand their right for a fulsome life.
A fulsome life is a gift of God. It is the birth right of every individual in the world cutting across all barriers of continental, racial, economic, mental, health and religious status. I think the solution to all these problems lies in religion itself.
In simple terms, religion must teach us the way to lead our lives in all fullness, bliss and prosperity. For these objectives, religion must be pursued and taught to the highest possible standards and the most rightful manner. Human beings must humble themselves in the pursuit of religious wisdom and seek divine interference for understanding. This experience of complete surrender to the higher power (termed spirituality) will help refining the individual and coalesce him into the causal factors of a fulsome earthly life. Spirituality will lead us to a life in fullness, bliss and prosperity.
There is a gentleman called Dr. APJ Kalam, who will agree with my views on an idea for a better livelihood in India. In his book, “Ignited minds-unleashing the power within India”, he has explained the concept subtly in various parts for various situations. Here are a couple of excerpts from the book where he cites examples when spiritual people have showed the way to a fulsome life.
Excerpt 1: An example of Giving.
“In 1962, Dr. Sarabhai and Dr. Bhabha were looking for a site to establish the space research station in the equatorial region. Thumba in Kerala was found most suitable as it was near the equatorial region and was ideally suited for ionospheric research. The locality was however inhabited by thousands of fishermen living in the villages there. It also had a beautiful church called St. Mary Magdalene church and the Bishop’s house. As such the acquisition of the land did not move any further.
Dr. Sarabhai met the bishop, His Excellency Rev. Dr. Peter Bernard Pereira on a Saturday and requested transfer of property. The bishop smiled and asked him to meet him the next day. In the Sunday morning service the bishop told the congregation, ‘My children, I have a famous scientist with me who wants our church and the place that I live for space science and research. Science seeks truth that enriches life. The higher level of religion is spirituality. The spiritual leaders seek the help of the almighty to bring peace to human minds. In short what Vikram is doing and what I am doing are the same- Both science and spirituality seeks Almighty’s blessings for human prosperity in mind and body. Children can we give them god’s abode for a scientific mission? There was silence for a while followed by a hearty ‘Amen’ from the congregation which made the whole church reverberate.”
Excerpt 2: An example of companionship.
“News reached me that a Maulvi of a very famous 300 year old mosque was waiting in the mutt to take me to the mosque. The swamiji suggested that I visit the mosque. At this instance I remembered an incident in Paramacharya’s time, a decade ago, as told by the former president, R. Venkatraman. Mr. Venkatraman showed me the mosque very close to the Kanchi mutt. A few years ago, the mosque jayamath and the district authorities decided to relocate the mosque to some other suitable place as its present location was inconvenient both for the mutt and mosque. As a large number of people visit the historic mosque and there are huge gatherings at the mutt too, the traffic was becoming increasingly difficult to manage. The mutt would rebuild the mosque in its new location. Somehow this message reached the Paramacharya. He vehemently opposed the whole idea. He said, ‘In fact at 4:30 am, the call for namaz comes from the mosque, it acts as a wake up call for my divine duties.’ And also for many other reasons he was opposed to the relocation of the mosque. He made it clear to both the district authorities and the mutt. The Paramacharya went into mouna viradham-deep silence. Finally shifting of the mosque was stopped.”

These examples do suggest that people from different religions can coexist in their pursuit for a fulsome life. Spirituality is the answer. Religious texts should be read thoroughly by every individual after seeking divine help for understanding through prayers.
I have decided to read my religious text, The Bible. I will read it over and over again praying to God that every time I do, I can get better in my understanding of my life and its role in this world.

I have a white Ferrari, the Ferrari with a capital F.
Today was a nice day and tomorrow will be better. Which day wasn’t and wouldn’t? I read a book titled, ‘I bought the monk’s Ferrari’’ written by a corporate honcho called Ravi Subramanian. This writer is an IIM-B alumnus and has done well for himself in his banking career. In his attempt to give back voluminously to the world that he cherishes, he has written this book that is parallel yet in some junctures questioning the other famous book on similar lines, ‘The monk who sold his Ferrari’ by Robin Sharma. To me a Ferrari is a short, wide, powerful car. A red car. I like the sound the most followed by its sleek tiger like rear design. But for the rest of the educated world it means more. It means, panache incarnate, global status symbol, a rich man’s toy, an answer to a mid-life crisis, a proof of piles of stock money and the finest cars in the world. A Ferrari is not a spec sheet of an automobile. It is a dream.
The author eloquently equates Ferrari with an image of the reason of human existence. He describes it as the pinnacle of one’s worldly sojourn which everyone should aspire. It means ultimate happiness, success, contended and uncomplicated life. But the author deftly also manages to remind the readers that his definition of the pinnacle is not necessarily accepted by all and that different people like to take different stances. The corporate player that he is, he equates success with quick pay rises, promotions, perks, international holidays, mansions, private jets and islands, although he claims his teachings can be applied in all fields. He is also quick to dismiss the escapists who say that the Ferrari comes with a price, a heavy one that would not let you pursue alternate interests, high mental an emotional stress, and little or no time for the family. “You have to realise one thing that the Ferrari is not owned by millions. It is only for the crème de la crème. As it is they are fewer in number…even fewer among them own the Ferrari’’. This book professes that only people with Ferraris are happy. He enlists Ten Commandments for attaining the Ferrari which is explained in good detail in the book.
1. To acquire the Ferrari you need to aspire. And when you aspire, do not compromise for anything but the best.
2. Be optimistic, chase the negative thoughts away. A positive frame of mind will surely get you closer to your Ferrari.
3. Do not whine and whimper about ‘work-life’ balance. Be the winner, not the wimp, and the Ferrari will be yours.
4. Set and follow the highest standard of integrity in your personal and professional lives. If you are high on integrity, people will respect and value you. The Ferrari when it comes will stay with you.
5. Value your time and of the others, and be rest assured that the Ferrari will come to you.
6. No one is perfect. The moment you think you are, it is the countdown to doomsday. Earning the Ferrari is all about upgrading yourself, improving your skill sets and equipping yourself for the future. And for this, the initiative has to be yours.
7. Identify the owners of the Ferrari and align yourself with them. If you are in the company of successful people, their success will rub off on you. You need to back it up with stellar performances. If you live in Ferrari town, chances are, you will get to drive one sooner.
8. Share your success with others. If you commit to uplift the downtrodden you will become the true owner of the Ferrari.
9. Remain in perfect shape and fighting fit. No one will entrust you with a Ferrari if you cannot drive it.
10. If you have followed all the commandments with dedication and determination, it is the time to build up a profile for yourself. Target your audience and announce your achievements. You will own the Ferrari in no time.
After the Ten Commandments, the author escalates our imaginations further when he reveals the FERRARI.
Fortune for Every Right Rigorous And Resourceful person.
I beg to differ with this concept. I do not agree with the fact that only winners are happy. I do not believe fortune brings happiness. I do not also believe that all right, rigorous and resourceful people will have fortune.
If there is a competition, there can be one winner-The whole world is competing for fortune- Does that mean only the richest person in the world is happy?
I think it is at this point where I think Robin Sharma’s book did slightly better. I think the yogi in the book gave a place for non-winners a place to dwell in this biosphere. The yogi teaches the protagonist how worldly achievements should not come on the way to a happy, peaceful and content life.
From a spiritual point of view, I believe that it is the sinful human self that is necessitating the need for such senile books. I think only unconditional love can negate FERRARI. If love is what every organism seeks, then the need for fortune is annihilated.
I wrote a poem a few years ago when I was competing in the Premedical examinations and misfortune didn’t let me achieve what I desired and deserved. I was right, rigorous and resourceful. After that episode, I learnt to live with what I get and be happy and content with it. I wrote a poem during those wonderful days.
Life- the expressway
Life, the expressway
Has something posh near something rickety
Drivers come on, some happy and some sad,
Sad because of their possessions and happy for the same,
Sad because of their consistent breakdowns
And others because of their low speeds in the top gear,
Happy is the man who takes the breakdowns in his stride
And is happy of his steady speed.
Sad is the man who changes shades looking at attractive fellow drivers,
But happy is the man who sticks to a single shade, loyal to his conscience
Life the expressway is with too many so called unwanted round-a-bouts and red lights
Happy is the man, who follows traffic lights and sad is the one to whom fine follows for breaking rules,
Happy is the man who learns from the past and is smart
Sad is the man who is full of confidence and is over smart
Above all,
Life is an endless expressway where anybody and everybody are everybody and anybody.
I have a Ferrari with a capital F because I realised Microsoft word processes Ferrari with a capital F. My Ferrari is uncharacteristically white, because I prefer zero entropy.

An optimist.

My sister wrote this poem a couple of years ago. I didnt make much of it then. Now I do.
I saw a dream; I am hurt
I knew it was a sham,
Yet I tried to be an optimist,
But it had to struck me,
It was all a sham you shattered me,
I was blind; I saw a dream,
I heard your plosive sound,
Still murmuring in my ears.
You are a tenuous individual to me now,
U can’t break me,
I am efficacious to break the evil strands,
My smile, construe my intelligence,
I am diligent,
My innocence construes my strength,
Will cover the interstice in my life,
Nothing is impermeable,
After all I am an optimist,
I knew it was a sham,
Yet I tried to be an optimist,
But it had to struck me,
It was all a sham you shattered me,
I was blind; I saw a dream,
I heard your plosive sound,
Still murmuring in my ears.
You are a tenuous individual to me now,
U can’t break me,
I am efficacious to break the evil strands,
My smile, construe my intelligence,
I am diligent,
My innocence construes my strength,
Will cover the interstice in my life,
Nothing is impermeable,
After all I am an optimist,

Juliana- A real story.

I hated my job and I hated the office. My colourful love for life seemed a tad unclean. I was heftily digging into a shelf of patient notes when I overheard a conversation between two people discussing GOD, specifically Jesus Christ. My neurons upstairs threw up stoically. Distressed and moaning, I cursed them for being another couple of morons setting up more examples of talk to convince-show not in doing lifestyle
Three days into my job, on that fine day, I realised that in a hurried morning I had left behind my mobile phone and wallet at home. Very often in the media we come across images of hunger struck human beings specially children, all malnourished and bony and on the edge of their lives. I had hardly ever before imagined how it would feel to not have a meal to eat. I had skipped breakfast that morning and was not carrying my mobile phone too, which added hunger and loneliness in the city of London.
On that cold afternoon at Russell Square, I walked not knowing how to overcome hunger. I had all the money in the world that I need, yet not a morsel to feed myself. This predicament made me aware of an aspect of life largely not thought of. My hungry heart went out to the impoverished and malnourished.
Stirring up my brains for ideas, I walked up to SOAS (School of Oriental and Asian studies) to get food at the ISHKON devotees who I heard give away food for anyone who wants to eat. To my dismay, they were missing since I was probably a wee bit too early for lunch at 12:30. Then I strode towards ULU where a pretty face supposedly gives koffee to thirsty souls at Koinonia, a student outreach program of a Christian group. As it has always been, she wasn’t there.
Heavy hearted sigh. I walked back to my office, a good 700 metres of meandering mind and a hungered body. As a last resort, I had to borrow. I had a friend in office. Adrian. [Good Morning- Bye- see you tomorrow] kind of friend. He was not there too.
Enter. JULIANA. The protagonist of this story. A stranger. Oh wait. She owes me something. My curses. I had given it to her the previous day for her conversation about GOD. A mouthful. De Facto Plenty, sufficient to keep me warm for the rest of the evening. With my AAIDU acquired crocodile skin, I approached for some money. 5 pounds maybe. She warily gave me 2P+2P+50p+20p+20p+10p not bothering to even acknowledge my three thankus. I happily ran out of the office and picked up some food and ate heartful. I then promptly returned to work and went home at 5 PM. All through this failed to realise someone watching me carefully, my darting about in the office and eating like never before.
I came to office next day, guarded with my wallet and loads of confidence. During my lunch break I went out to the money machine, took money for myself, brought lunch and a galaxy chocolate bar for JULIANA as a token of appreciation and came back to office. I went up to Juliana and give her the cash and the chocolate. She promptly told in her African big momma accent that she doesn’t need the money back. I persist saying that I will be eternally thankful for her help, but she need not refuse to take it back. But the African steadfastness came to the fore and she told that she appreciates the chocolate and would take that, but pleaded the other way with the money. She said, “You are younger and I can buy you lunch. Please”. Then she gave me a hug. Although not the one to be emotional in public, I had to fight hard to keep my eyes dry, that moment. I went back to my desk.
An avalanche of impulses were criss-crossing my central nervous system and I realised I had not stopped committing the sin of judging people. I had also temporarily lost hope for a few weeks in humanity and the abundant mercy of God. I have it back now.
Juliana, I still remember you fondly. God bless.
ps:I left that job after a week.

The child and his colourful blindness.

I was lost in awe at the fireworks in the Mayor’s Thames carnival. I was lost at the sight of the midnight moon, the mystical never ending sky and the planes queuing up to land at the London Heathrow across the BT tower.
The child in me still lives.
Far away in India, in rural Orissa, innocent human beings are being killed for some indigestible reasons. The claim for annihilation and destruction is the conversions of human beings from faith ‘Hinduism’ to faith ‘Christianity’.
I don’t accept forced conversions of any kind and am wary of religious converts of any direction. I believe, a conversion of faith is a mighty event in anyone’s life and should be a result of a long struggle with oneself involving a sky full of wrestling thoughts, questions, answers, experience and wisdom. This scepticism will eventually lead to increased relative clarity and peacefulness within one’s self. I herewith second the famous Oscar Wilde quote,’ Scepticism is the beginning of faith’. I can testify to this fact.
Around the world, skilled orators have been accepted leaders of human beings. They can throw to the masses sugar coated languor or stirring phillipics that pump the adrenalin. The case in religious unrest of all kinds in India. Biologically adrenalin is the hormone secreted by the adrenal medulla that acts as a powerful stimulant in response to fear or stress. In the worldly plane, adrenalin can result in temporary blindness of the mind and the heart, resulting in dusting away the beautiful life that can be. Well thought out faith can withstand adrenalin, but the weak shall be carried away like the chaff in the wind. The chaff in this case is the root cause of all detruction.
As goes popular understanding, every human being remains a child till he dies. Recently I came across this quote by an Italian novelist, Leo Rosten, “You can understand and relate to most people better if you look at them, no matter how old or impressive they may be, as if they are children. For most of us never really grow up or mature all that much, we simply grow taller. O, to be sure, we laugh less and play less and wear uncomfortable disguises like adults, but beneath the costume is the child we always are, whose needs are simple, and whose daily life is still best described by fairy tales.”
“Every child is a thought in the mind of God, and our task is to recognize this thought and help it toward completion.”anonymous. With unprecedented connectivity across the world and easy access to the worldly events, the child (all possible definitions) of today is facing an insurge of thoughts (all kinds) against convention from all planes and angles. What is he going to assimilate and synthesise?
The Child lives on seeking answers.
A Fairy tale life is simple. The answer is faith.
Faith makes all things possible, But love makes all things easy- anonymous philosopher.
Herewith I would like to add two very often used Biblical verses. Mark, 12:30, 31.
30’And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this [is] the first commandment.
31’ And the second [is] like, [namely] this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these .

It is not easy to understand these verses, and life. But simply put, lets try and love each other. If we cannot, lets not hate each other. We are blessed with lives.

My friend!!

At this point, 12:30 in the dark night, I am searching for the proper emotions to emote. I am numb. I do not know how to react. His grace in unbelievably inexplicable and too much for my own comfort. It pleasantly suffocates me. He will make me understand his Love for me even when I am worthless for a glance at that luxury. He has taken me out of situations so grave that I can think of nothing but him and his ever forgiving nature. To mention his ever forgiving nature is an understatement. He has acted like an all-things granting genie for me in my life. For the uninitiated, he has bailed me out of every possible mishap in the most precarious of times and taught me to appreciate life. I have a feeling that he has spoon fed life to me. He has proven to me again today that, wherever I go and whichever path I decide to take, his love will always be there and he will only send me on journeys which I am well prepared. He has made me a king and let me live life King size. When He is with me, nobody can be against me.
If anyone is still wondering who I am talking about, it is my best friend, Lord Jesus Christ. ‘You are only as good as your friend’ is the age old adage. Nothing in this world can be a better example for an exception for this than me and him. Although there isn’t any jealousy involved from my side at his mighty position, I can do nothing but adore and take pride in my friend. I can’t thank him enough for all that he has done for me. His character makes me want to get up from my fall and be like him. I want to run and run shouting about him and his Love. He is the God. He is the almighty.
A few verses that kept me going in the past few days.
Psalm 79:11, 13.
Demonstrate your power by saving those condemned to die. For we people , the sheep of your pasture will thank you forever and ever, praising your greatness from generation to generation.
Psalm 80:15
Watch over and care for this vine that you yourself have planted. This son that you have raised for yourself.
Psalm 82:2
How long will you judges hand down unjust decisions? How long will you shower special favours on the wicked?
The reason why I write this blog is because , my results are out and my close friends would not want to believe this: I have a Master's degree in Science. It was an uncertainity till the moment the results were out.

One fine night

In this cold summer night in London at 2.0 AM in the morning, a thought crossed my mind. A random thought arising out of my boredom with foiled sleep attempts by factors dearest. I saw a portion of a park. Some place like Regents park. A wide ground on a full moon day but dark as it is in a park covered with gothic gargantuan trees. In the middle of it was a sleepy mansion surrounded with trees, which I associate with the peace and calm of the south Indian countryside. The weather outside in london tonight has been rather uncharacteristic with moderately heavy winds that sound to me like the coastal winds in the beaches of kanyakumari , my hometown and one of my highly argumentative idea of paradise. There in that cottage I saw light in a couple of rooms. This scenario which I associate with the conventional demand for light for survival. In the middle of the solitude and quietness, I saw no one yet I think I fathom seeing a few figures. A flash of happiness lashed my mind. I felt good. I have the inkling that I have seen this scenario many a number of times. Vaguely in my memory, I can recollect dreaming about it in my childhood.

The leaf with wings.

As I float on air,
Carried on by my wings and the Wind,
Yearning to float on my own will,
Guided by the wind, cease as it never will.
Happened to kiss a few raindrops,(unintentionally),
(Now)waiting for them, expectations, all the sops,
Sometimes I anticipated,
Only to be reminded of the misunderstood.
I was desperate, Desolate and distraught,
The timing was hardly immaculate,
Realised the power of the Wind,
someone who is mighty, omniscient and overly kind.
Told myself to land sometimes,
Took off again, jealous were all other subjects,
There were many other leaves in the air,
Most flew , wanting to fly higher.
Raindrops splattered on them, didnt they bother,
They beat the wind, or so does it occur,
Few did fly, drop laden and glisten,
My flight is a bliss, a lot to sing and listen.
Know I don't of my flight,
Swift, plain, magnificient, and light,
Know I not my direction,
Peaceful, tranquil, blissful and everything in connection,
I fly on, for the raindrops and the Wind,
Glisten will I all along, thanks and praise in mind.

Inanimate in this animate world!

There are many times when I get lost completely in points of time and space .There has been an one off occasion of shouting inside aircrafts and trains followed by deep bouts of embarassment and guilt. This is because of my chronic affinity to slip into some unknown variable in space and time where the vehicle of my life/one in which I am travelling in suddenly crashes into something leading to my crying for life.In life,on most occasions I imagine that I am on the course of my destination until I am pleasantly awakened to the real direction of my journey which initially remains abstract to my understanding.I am not sure if my fellow travellers feel the same as well. But in the race of life I normally lose track of my direction and suddenly manage to appear from nowhere near the finish line and emerge victorious.Although majority of the human subjects/my competitors don't realise who the Victor is of the race,I am least bothered.I know MY truth. But the success that I boasted is not my own.
I realise it very well that it comes from the ONE above. His grace transcends all limits of human understanding.I can only bow before the inexplicability of his understanding of his creations. He loves those who love HIM.This is my recipe for a successful ,happy and contentful living .It isn't so easy or is it?
I realise it very well that it comes from the ONE above. His grace transcends all limits of human understanding.I can only bow before the inexplicability of his understanding of his creations. He loves those who love HIM.This is my recipe for a successful ,happy and contentful living .It isn't so easy or is it?
I remember the Bajaj Avenger tag line which caught many a youngster's imagination,'Feel like God'.They potray this feeling, by actions of largeheartedness where you forgive people who had left indelible scars on your persona. It also shows the vehicle's suspensions that absorb the shocks offered by the road which leads to a state of trance when you ride it.This formula can be applied for a Godly life by minding our own business even when we have bottlenecks in the way of life.
But I feel that it is the mind that should be turned off from this world when you are racing in life's track. It is difficult to be so unreasonable and illogical to be not bothered about the result. But it is possible if you are confident of winning it anyway.
-What is this combination of blind confidence and focus called?
-Can you focus on anything when you are blind in the mind?
-Is it what is called faith?
-Can this impossibly tough 'being' be compared with the "Feeling like God" thing?
I don't know beacuse I havent succeeded in attaining this lively trance yet.I am still trying hard to be inanimate in this animate world!

Self discovery

I recently discovered that the process of self discovery also drives human beings. What you like or hate now will not evoke the same feelings the next year, next day or closer, next moment.I think this phenomenon is common to all in our species. My dabbling around with many things in life have proved to me beyond doubt that my life will never be monotonous. This I say because I believe that thought designs character,it is character that devices your life.By statiI ng this I guess,,I am deviating slightly from the stand that I normally take on the turn of events in life for which my explanation borders spirituality.Right now,I am looking forward to the next phase of my life which promises to bring new experiences and an entirely different strata of life in terms of quality.Right now I see this as an oppurtunity for living out a few of my dreams, few material, few to the mind, few for the body.I am also looking to take forward my latest love in life,,,the lenses to a different platform. This episode of dire straits romance has proved to me once again that I do not yet completely know my potential of expertise in mundane fields.Photography has become an integral part of my palette these days .These days I am looking for beauty in all its colors.Although I understand my juvenile status in this form of art,I am willing to take it step by step. They say poetry is an abundant and spontaneous outflow of emotions.I would define photography as the unsaid capture of emotions on paper. Now I realise that I can communicate well breaking a few barriers Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. This was Einstein.I completely agree with this after bathing many such experiences.I am really not sure what else I am capable of.I am awestruck looking at the capacities of a Mittal,a Buffet,a Ambani with their enormous man management skills.I still dream of a day when there would be plentyful man management ability in me enough to run my own eneterprise.Undreamable dream,I havent achieved many of my dreams. But I am living a dream which is more gigantigue and grand than my own standard of dreaming. This I realise very well and this I think is one of the secrets of contentful living. And the slow discovery of this secret can be termed as life and its zillion complexities.Maybe Freud can say it better. And one day may be I will discover myself completely. That sounds like blasphemy I guess. So let me stop my blabbering here and ponder on.
